Day 10 & 11
Two-for-one entry as there hasn’t been much to report here. Yesterday we went into town to pick up steaks for supper and made a stop at…you guessed it a brewery in Williams Lake! Fox Mountain Brewery has some fine beers and good food. We had a pint each (Keith and I that is) and a quick lunch. Keith took Jonas on his bike. Jonas we grinning from ear to ear the whole time and gave me a thumbs up at every stop we came to.
When Keith was getting onto his bike to head back home he noticed that he wasn’t feeling quite right. It was a hot day so we thought it might just be heat exhaustion. He got back to the house and had a nap in the cool basement. When he got up, he wasn’t feeling any better and had the aches. I had reached out to my boss to see about getting an extra holiday day added for this trip, mostly because it felt like we hadn’t been here for very long. Seems like sickness is now the reason for the extra time. All I can say is that it’s a good thing for Keith to be sick now rather than while at a campground or at the very beginning of our trip, I suppose? Long story short: Keith took a rapid test & had COVID.
He is feeling better today than yesterday, so we are hoping that it’s over quickly. He definitely wasn’t in any shape to ride his bike today as per Plan A (or tomorrow as per Plan B). So we are just going to wing it to see how things go over the next few days. In the meantime I’m trying to complete as many chores as possible on Mom’s never-ending list.
