(Keith) We woke up pretty early after a good rest and decided against the outdoor shower. Having a quick coffee we packed up and headed up to Long Harbor to catch the ferry into Vancouver. After about 15 mins we were informed that the 10:40 ferry that we arrived for very early was not running due to the long weekend. This totally explained the no traffic situation we arrived at. The guy at the ferry terminal suggested we head to Fulford Harbor to Victoria grabbing a transfer pass and then to over to Vancouver.

We quickly turned around and headed back through salt spring arriving at Fulford harbour where the BC ferries hand waved us to the front of the line. This is one of the bonuses when riding on most but not all of the saltwater ferries, first on first off.
Once we made landfall we had to take the u-turn route about a km down the road then headed back to the terminal. I got a really confused new BC ferries employee that was going to place me on standby and put Leah at the front of the line. I had to inform him that we were traveling together and that would not be acceptable. After reassuring him that both us being in the standby lane would be fine we lined up waiting for the ferry.
The ferry loaded pretty quickly and they placed us at the back of the top car deck. One of the things I learned on this trip is to utilize the AC on the ferries to charge our solar generator at any chance we got so we brought it up with us and gave it a quick charge to 99% before I brought it back to the bike.

Once we landed on the mainland it was decided that we needed to hit a new brewery and decided on Barnside brewing in Delta. I plugged this into my GPS before we departed and headed on our way. Well I discovered that my GPS really needs an update as it was missing a lot of the new highways that BC has built outside of the ferry terminal and because of this we kinda overshot the turn to the brewery. We did eventually find it and settled in for a flight of beer.

As we were at Barnside I was looking for campgrounds along the way and became frustrated with both BC parks and some of the private parks as some would only let you stay if it was multiple days or their site would just crash. This gave me some anxiety as I really like to know where I’m going to crash for the night. I finally got ahold of a campground in Mission and we had our course plotted.
We found our campground just before we hit Mission. It was a very quiet setting apparently they don’t really take campers anymore, just cyclists and bikers in need of a location for a short stay. I have to say this place was fantastic. They set us up an a nice grassy section across from the Rec/washroom facility where if there was shitty weather you could play pool, ping pong or just chill and watch a movie. The Place was called the Sun Valley Trout Park and I suggest that any biker that needs a place to camp around Mission, BC to look them up.
While we were at Sun Valley Trout Park we met two cyclists from Germany who were spending the final month of their 2 month tour of Canada. Being good friendly Canadians the first thing I did was offer them each a cold beer to go with their meal before we set out ourselves to go have supper at Mission Springs Brewing. Once we returned we invited them over to our camp to play a round of the card game golf and have a few more beers before heading to bed.
