Germany 2025

Well this is not our regular Keith and Leah on 2 wheels but after all the attention our trip has attracted from friends and co-workers we felt it was our duty to blog this adventure.

Starting on Thursday we flew from Edmonton to Vancouver and after a 5 hour layover in Van straight to Munich. Now I have to say I’m not a fan of sitting in an airplane for 10 hours but Leah and I survived.

We got into Munich at around 2:30 Friday and after making our way through immigration and collecting our bags headed on the S1 to our hotel in the area of Hirschgarten.

We both had a shower and decided that we need a bite to eat, I happened to stumble onto a bier garden in my searching for a restaurant that was a brief walk from our hotel. We headed out not knowing what to expect as it was attached to a green space. We arrived to the königlicher hirschgarten bier garden. This place was amazing, tons and tons of traditional bier garden tables and benches for large groups where it’s self service. Leah and I elected for the set table area where we would get table service.

Our server Marcel was great and man he was quick with the beer but sometimes too quick, while clearing a few glasses he spilled an entire pint on my lap. Ahh its only spilled beer I told him and he quickly grabbed me a new beer and I eventually dried off.

We decided to stick around at the bier garden until we were ready for bed to help adjust to the time difference so that ment maybe drinking maybe a few pints.

On our way back to the hotel we came across a few fellow Canadians that had also been enjoying themselves from Toronto. They were planning on hitting the festival for Saturday. Super fun people to walk back to the hotel with.
